ומרדו מואבאי בישראל בתר דמית אחאב:
akhab dmyth bthr byshral mwabay wmrdw
Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
2
ונפל אחזיה מן סרגתא בעיליתיה די בשמרון ואתמרע ושלח אזגדין ואמר להון אזילו תבעו בבעל זבוב טעות עקרון אם אחי ממרעי דין:
dyn mmrey akhy am eqrwn Tewth zbwb bbel thbew azylw lhwn wamr azgdyn wshlkh wathmre bshmrwn dy beylythyh srgtha mn akhzyh wnpl
Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover of this sickness.”

ומלאכא דיי מליל עם אליהו דמן תושב קום סק לקדמות אזגדי מלכא דשמרון ומליל עמהון הלא אלהא קים דשכנתיה שריא בישראל אתון אזלין למתבע בבעל זבוב טעות עקרון:
eqrwn Tewth zbwb bbel lmthbe azlyn athwn byshral shrya dshknthyh qym alha hla emhwn wmlyl dshmrwn mlka azgdy lqdmwth sq qwm thwshb dmn alyhw em mlyl dyy wmlaka
But Yahweh’s angel said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?

ובכן כדנן אמר יי ערסא דסליקתא תמן לא תיחות מנה ארי ממת תמות ואזל אליה:
alyh wazl thmwth mmth ary mnh thykhwth la thmn dslyqtha ersa yy amr kdnn wbkn
Now therefore Yahweh says, “You will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.”’” Then Elijah departed.

ותבו אזגדיא לותיה ואמר להון מא דין תבתון:
thbthwn dyn ma lhwn wamr lwthyh azgdya wthbw
The messengers returned to him, and he said to them, “Why is it that you have returned?”

ואמרו ליה גברא סליק לקדמותנא ואמר לנא אזילו תובו לות מלכא דשלח יתכון ותמללון עמיה כדנן אמר יי הלא אלהא קים דשכנתיה שריא בישראל את שלח למתבע בבעל זבוב טעות עקרון בכן ערסא דסליקתא תמן לא תיחות מנה ארי ממת תמות:
thmwth mmth ary mnh thykhwth la thmn dslyqtha ersa bkn eqrwn Tewth zbwb bbel lmthbe shlkh ath byshral shrya dshknthyh qym alha hla yy amr kdnn emyh wthmllwn ythkwn dshlkh mlka lwth thwbw azylw lna wamr lqdmwthna slyq gbra lyh wamrw
They said to him, “A man came up to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, “Yahweh says, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”’”

ומליל עמהון מא נמוסא דגרבא דסליק לקדמותכון ומליל עמכון ית פתגמיא האלין:
halyn pthgmya yth emkwn wmlyl lqdmwthkwn dslyq dgrba nmwsa ma emhwn wmlyl
He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came up to meet you and told you these words?”

ואמרו ליה גבר בעיל סערן וזרזא דמשכא אסיר בחרציה ואמר אליה דמן תושב הוא:
hwa thwshb dmn alyh wamr bkhrtsyh asyr dmshka wzrza sern beyl gbr lyh wamrw
They answered him, “He was a hairy man, and wearing a leather belt around his waist.” He said, “It’s Elijah the Tishbite.”

ושלח לותיה רב חמשין וחמשין דעמיה וסליק לותיה והוא יתיב על ריש טורא ומליל עמיה נביא דיי מלכא מליל חות:
khwth mlyl mlka dyy nbya emyh wmlyl Twra rysh el ythyb whwa lwthyh wslyq demyh wkhmshyn khmshyn rb lwthyh wshlkh
Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’”

ואתיב אליה ומליל עם רב חמשין אם נביא דיי אנא תיחות אשתא מן שמיא ותיכול יתך וית חמשין דעמך ונחתת אשתא מן שמיא ואכלת יתיה וית חמשין דעמיה:
demyh khmshyn wyth ythyh waklth shmya mn ashtha wnkhthth demk khmshyn wyth ythk wthykwl shmya mn ashtha thykhwth ana dyy nbya am khmshyn rb em wmlyl alyh wathyb
Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky and consume you and your fifty!” Then fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

ותב ושלח לותיה רב חמשין אוחרנין וחמשין דעמיה ואתיב ומליל עמיה נביא דיי כדנן אמר מלכא אוחי חות:
khwth awkhy mlka amr kdnn dyy nbya emyh wmlyl wathyb demyh wkhmshyn awkhrnyn khmshyn rb lwthyh wshlkh wthb
Again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. He answered him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down quickly!’”

ואתיב אליה ומליל עמהון אם נביא דיי אנא תיחות אשתא מן שמיא ותיכול יתך וית חמשין דעמך ונחתת אשתא מן שמיא ואכלת יתיה וית חמשין דעמיה:
demyh khmshyn wyth ythyh waklth shmya mn ashtha wnkhthth demk khmshyn wyth ythk wthykwl shmya mn ashtha thykhwth ana dyy nbya am emhwn wmlyl alyh wathyb
Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky and consume you and your fifty!” Then God’s fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

ותב ושלח רב חמשין תליתאי וחמשין דעמיה וסליק ואתא רב חמשין תליתאין וכרע על ברכוהי לקביל אליהו ובעא מן קדמוהי ומליל עמיה נביא דיי תיקר כען נפשי ונפשא דעבדך אלין חמשין בעינך:
beynk khmshyn alyn debdk wnpsha npshy ken thyqr dyy nbya emyh wmlyl qdmwhy mn wbea alyhw lqbyl brkwhy el wkre thlythayn khmshyn rb watha wslyq demyh wkhmshyn thlythay khmshyn rb wshlkh wthb
Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty of your servants be precious in your sight.

הא נחתת אשתא מן שמיא ואכלת ית תרין רבני חמשין קדמאין וית חמשין דעמהון וכען תיקר נפשי בעינך:
beynk npshy thyqr wken demhwn khmshyn wyth qdmayn khmshyn rbny thryn yth waklth shmya mn ashtha nkhthth ha
Behold, fire came down from the sky and consumed the last two captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight.”

ומליל מלאכא דיי עם אליהו חות עמיה לא תדחל מן קדמוהי וקם ונחת עמיה לות מלכא:
mlka lwth emyh wnkhth wqm qdmwhy mn thdkhl la emyh khwth alyhw em dyy mlaka wmlyl
Yahweh’s angel said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Don’t be afraid of him.” Then he arose and went down with him to the king.

ומליל עמיה כדנן אמר יי חלף דשלחתא אזגדין למשאל בבעל זבוב טעות עקרון הלא אלהא קים דשכנתיה שריא בישראל למשאל בפתגמיה בכן ערסא דסליקתא תמן לא תיחות מנה ארי מימת תמות:
thmwth mymth ary mnh thykhwth la thmn dslyqtha ersa bkn bpthgmyh lmshal byshral shrya dshknthyh qym alha hla eqrwn Tewth zbwb bbel lmshal azgdyn dshlkhtha khlp yy amr kdnn emyh wmlyl
He said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”

ומית כפתגמא דיי דמליל אליהו ומלך יהורם תחותוהי בשנת תרתין ליהורם בר יהושפט מלכא דבית יהודה ארי לא הוה ליה בר:
br lyh hwh la ary yhwdh dbyth mlka yhwshpT br lyhwrm thrthyn bshnth thkhwthwhy yhwrm wmlk alyhw dmlyl dyy kpthgma wmyth
So he died according to Yahweh’s word which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son.
